Friends, do you love fall? I adore the cooler weather, the colors on the trees, and the smell of spices in fall coking. One thing commonly associated with autumn is a yummy batch of caramel apples; but I'm here to tell you that you can have this delicious treat any time of the year! My friend, Zorina Steinman has been famous in our neighborhood and our community for many years for the amazing caramel that she makes. The recipe is a secret which I nearly had in my hands one day when both of us were Bear Den leaders together. I think the antics of the boys wore her down, but, darn it! I left that day without remembering to have her write it down for me! People in the neighborhood would special order her apples, Turtles, & Pretzel Rods for holidays, and she would make caramel apples by the dozens to sell at Little League games and high school events. Business was great, but her kitchen at home was growing smaller by the year.
